Peoples-Webster County Bank, Red Cloud and Orleans, is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program.   Under that program, through December 31, 2013, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.  Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s deposit insurance rules.

Now Accounts with interest rates no higher than .50% (1/2 of 1%) are covered under this guarantee.  Now accounts with interest rates higher than .50% (1/2 of 1%) are not covered under this guarantee. Peoples-Webster County Bank, Red Cloud and Orleans, does not offer NOW accounts that pay an interest rate in excess of .50% (1/2 of 1%)
